Few rock groups that have been stimulating crazed audiences for 40 years can still pump up a crowd like ZZ Top. The blues rock band commanded the stage Sunday night at the Arizona State Fairgrounds to the pleasure of an excited audience who have surely been fans of the band for multiple decades.
ZZ Top performed their classic 1970’s hits like “La Grange,” which emphasizes their signature guitar sound and is always a fan favorite. The band also featured their 1980’s hits glorifying a lady’s physique like “Tush,” “Legs” and also kept the crowd grooving with “Sharp Dressed Man.” Audience members sang, danced and rocked along to every guitar riff, catchy chorus and classic tune. The band even sampled a few new songs from their album released in 2012, La Futura.
The three original band members have been together since 1969 and still don’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. ZZ Top’s catchy rock anthems have a permanent spot on their concert set lists, and we hope to see the perform live for many years to come. Not even their infamous beards, sunglasses and hats could distract from the raw blues rock talent that the band members still possess.
