Legendary UCLA coach John Wooden’s local connection to the Phoenix Mercury
Coach Wooden died yesterday at age 99. Ironically, Phoenix Mercury G.M. Ann Meyers-Drysdale and I were talking a couple of weeks ago about my school’s legendary coach Henry Iba and Coach Wooden’s name came up.
