Besides the birthday concert scheduled for London, Terminal 5 in New York announced a show to be held on January 10th, the one-year anniversary of Bowie’s death. It’s appropriately titled “Celebrating David Bowie: A Very Special David Bowie Concert With Bowie People Playing Bowie Music Bowie Style.” In addition to special guests, the event will feature several “Bowie Alum” who played in his band over the years, including Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sterling Campbell and others.

The whole idea for the “Celebrating David Bowie” concerts grew out of two initial memorial concerts held in California earlier this year. Over 70+ musicians gathered to honor Bowie, and the result was so moving organizers decided to tour and continue celebrating his memory.¬†Even though London and New York are the first two cities where the celebrations will take place, organizers plan on bringing the tour to cities with strong ties to Bowie’s legacy. Sydney Opera House will host the next concert on January 29th. All future dates will be announced sporadically, according to the event’s description.
