The historic meeting between The Beatles and Elvis Presley happened on this day in 1965. The album covers pictures above show the musical gap between the king and the fab four, with Beatles VI containing current vibrant music, while the Elvis album was a mish-mash of leftover tracks from the vault, which had been sandwiched in Elvis’ typical 60’s movie fluff.
John, Paul, George, and Ringo, were on the fifth day of a five day break from their north American tour, and started the day attending a Los Angeles recording session for The Byrds.
Later that afternoon, The Beatles met Elvis at his Beverly Hills mansion.
No pictures or audio has ever surfaced (hard to believe not a single picture was taken or audio recorded!), but the individual members did talk about the meeting at various times through the years afterward.
