The “Charlie Experience” v.27: Don’t Stop Now
So if you have been following along in my little travels of my weight loss journey, July was the month of my 30 year high school reunion back in Wisconsin. I traveled alone as the family was working and getting ready for the start of the school year, so I just knocked this one out alone. The trip was great. Going back home is always a treat and every time I go, I make my way around to all the old hang outs and places I remember. This year I traveled for the first time to Green Bay. I am a stockholder in the Green Bay Packers, and I went to the annual stockholder meeting they hold at Lambeau Field. That was amazing and a whole different blog!
Then I went to visit my sister, Shelly. She is mentally challenged. I went to see her at her home she lives at in Watertown, Wisconsin with her caretakers. I brought her some books to look at from her favorite character ELMO. It was great spending time with her and see her room where she lives and meeting her caretakers. A very special time for me.
Then it was reunion time. What would my old classmates look like? Would I recognize them? What if they knew me, but I did not remember them? my goodness I had a ton of thoughts running through my head. One thing I was very proud of was showing up feeling great and down to my lowest weight in a long time! So here I am at the reunion, and right off the bat, “You look great! I have been following your blogs and let me tell you it has inspired me to get active and start losing weight. I’m not getting any younger.” I was beside myself! What a fantastic feeling of fulfillment in being able to influence someone to work on getting healthy and taking care of their body! I told them that I just changed my diet and my eating habits. I watch my portions, and I am active. Walking, whatever it takes. I also told them that I was going to a place called Red Mountain Weight Loss which was helping me get over the hump and my plateau I was hitting. Medical weight loss was helping me reach my goal. It’s not easy doing this alone and some people need a little bit of help getting to their goal. You can see my page on their website here.
The trip was great. It was great seeing old friends and classmates. All of the hard work I have been putting in for this paid off BIG TIME! I am telling myself…DONT’ STOP NOW! It’s easy to fall back into old habits. Believe me, I’m living it right now! But I am determined to get back going! I have to keep pushing. That take determination, and discipline! Where am I at now. Well, let’s just say I have added to the challenge and I need to be working a bit harder. I’m gonna do it! I have you to thank for supporting me. Each time I see you at an event, you always encourage me to keep up the good work. I will. And you too. Keep pushing. Stay motivated. Stay determined. Your body will thank you for sure! DON’T STOP NOW!
Here is a great website I was turned on to that has great tips, motivation, and yu can sign up to get daily emails with the best of type stuff. I love it. I use it every day! It’s called Mind Body Green, and it’s something that I think will help you on your weight loss, healthy journey too!
