2007 – Heart problems forced Kiss guitarist and singer Paul Stanley to abandon a concert in California. Paramedics on the scene stopped and restarted his heart to give it a regular rhythm after his heart spontaneously jumped to 190+ beats per minute.
Earlier this year he appeared on the CBS affiliate in New york to talk about his book ‘Face The Music’.
1990 – Elton John checked into a Chicago clinic to cure bulimia and an addiction problem, taking off over a year off from touring and recording to deal with his problems.
1978 – The film soundtrack to ‘Grease’ hit #1 on the Billboard album chart.
1974 – Mamas and Papas (“California Dreamin'”, “Monday Monday”) singer Cass Elliot died in her sleep from a heart attack after playing a sold out show in England. [She did NOT die from chocking on a sandwich, contrary to many stories that have circulated about her]
1967 – The Doors topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Light My Fire”, which remained in the top spot for three weeks.
1965 – The Beatles second feature film ‘Help!’ has its UK premiere in London.
