Her name is “Venus”, because….yeah baby, she’s got it!! (get it? the song….) What she doesn’t have is a fur-ever, ACTIVE home.
Venus was found stray and no one claimed her. She is now is looking for a new and improved forever home.
She is between 4 and 5 months of age and the staff at Maricopa County Care and Control believe she is a Pointer mix, possibly with some Border Collie or Lab thrown in as well.
They are guessing she’s going to be around 40 lbs or so when all grown up. Poor Venus is very thin right now and needs lots of love. She is affectionate, outgoing, and high energy, but she has one weakness: TREATS!!!
She is highly food motivated and seems very smart. She taught herself to sit already. (For treats of course!) She still needs to work on “don’t take the fingers with the treats”. So be careful.
Venus would be the perfect dog to take jogging or hiking, or even a good candidate for doggy sports like agility or dock diving.
She is NOT likely to be a “sofa dog”, unless you are reupholstering a sofa and want some help with that.
Venus still needs her “big girl” surgery but that is included in her adoption fee.
She is only $20 to adopt right now since MCACC is still have our summer special!
Her A # is A3488484, and she is at our west shelter.
