Highest Note ‘Jersey Boy’ Actor Graham Fenton Hits Playing Frankie Valli
The Clint Eastwood directed film ‘Jersey Boys’ opened this past weekend in 4th place with a respectable $13 million in box office receipts. But as much as I love Eastwood’s work, you need to see the play on stage in addition to the movie.
I saw it a half dozen years ago when it came to Gammage (it’s coming back in July), and was blown away by how the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons was woven together with the groups classic songs, and some lesser known ones that helped move the story.
Recently, we sent a pair of KOOL listeners to see the show at Paris Las Vegas, which would be the ultimate experience for me.
Last week I caught up with Graham Fenton, who plays Frankie Valli in the Vegas cast, who talked about the challenges of playing the iconic figure, not the least of which was hitting all the high falsetto notes Frankie handled with such ease.
Do you know the what highest note was Frankie Valli sang in a Four Seasons hit? And do you know what the song was?
You will when you hear my conversation with Graham.
Here’s the movie trailer.
