New Beatles Mono Audiophile Vinyl Coming – How It Differs From The CD’s
The Beatles mono albums have been newly remastered for release on vinyl this September.
Wait a minute…..wasn’t their mono and stereo catalog remastered just five years ago?
Well yes, but while those mono/stereo CD sets and vinyl stereo box set were mastered from digital remasters created in 2009, this new vinyl set has been cut without the use of any digital technology.
All the tracks were mastered directly from the quarter inch master tapes at Abbey Road Studios using the same procedures used in the 1960’s, guided by the original albums and detailed cutting notes made by the original engineers.
The down side: perfection has its price.
Amazon is taking pre-orders for the limited box set containing all 14 vinyl discs and a 108 page hardbound book for $409.26.
PRE-ORDER PRICE ON THE SINGLE DISCS ARE $26.60, $43.97 FOR THE DOUBLE DISC “THE BEATLES”, AND $77.52 FOR THE THREE DISC “MONO MASTERS’ SET
The albums are:
• Please Please Me
• With The Beatles
• A Hard Day’s Night
• Beatles For Sale
• Rubber Soul
• Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
• Magical Mystery Tour
• The Beatles (2-LP)
• Mono Masters (3-LP)
