David Letterman once called Janelle Monáe the “hardest working woman in show business” and last night (June 11) on his Late Show she proved why she more than deserves that title.

Monáe took the stage to perform her cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes.” Dedicating the song to all the young heroes out there, the sci-fi songstress commanded the stage, shimmying, jumping and shuffling alongside her 9-piece band. Ending it by getting everyone in the crowd to sing and clap along.

Seriously, we didn’t call her one of the best things we saw at this past weekend’s Governors Ball for nothing.
