Sometimes when a well known celebrity dies, it feels like losing a family member.
This is one of those cases.
Ann B. Davis, who played Alice on ‘The Brady Bunch’, died earlier today from a fall in her bathroom and hit her head, never regaining consciousness.
My first exposure to her was on ‘The Bob Cummings Show’, where she played Charmaine “Schultzy” Schultz. She got the part after a friend’s boyfriend, who was a casting director, recommended her for the part. She won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a comedy series twice out of the four times she was nominated.
In 1960, she got her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame…..and then came ‘The Brady Bunch’.
From 1969-1974 she played housekeeper Alice Nelson, and returned to the role many times in Brady Bunch movies and the short lived tv series ‘The Brady Brides’ and ‘The Bradys’, both of which only lasted through a half dozen episodes each.
It’s sad for us, but God must have needed a good housekeeper and he got the best as she continued to be active in the Episcopal church.
Ann B. Davis was 88 years old.
Here she is talking about her character.
And did you know she was on ‘The Dating Game’!!!!!!
