For the first time in 31 years, an American won the Boston Marathon  earlier today.  38 year old Meb Keflezighi covered the 26.2 mile route in 2 hours 8 minutes and 37 seconds.

Rita Jeptoo defended her woman’s title for the third time with a new course record of 2 hours 18 minutes and 57 seconds..

The city of Boston and the state of Massachusettes have been the subject of five top 20 hits through the years.  One of the most famous being ‘Dirty Water’ by The Standells who proclaimed in the song “Boston you’re my home”.

Not true.

The Standells were a Los Angeles band.
