A researcher at UCLA in California says junk food could be making people lazy.
Biologist Aaron Blaisdell bases the findings on his study which fed two groups of rats two different diets. The rats were all required to push a lever to receive a reward. After several months, the rats fed the healthy diet continued to be motivated to push the lever frequently, while the rats fed the unhealthy diet lost interest in getting their rewards.
The researchers conclude that people don’t become obese because they are lazy, but rather they become lazy after becoming obese.
