Couch potatoes beware, sitting too much may come with serious risks. A study published Tuesday in the “Journal of Physical Activity and Health” reports that a sedentary lifestyle can cause disability. People over 60 are at a higher risk of developing serious conditions, including difficulty walking, diabetes and obesity if they spent around nine hours sitting down each day. Adding one more hour of sitting to daily activity boosted the chances of future disability by 50-percent.
