The most attended stop on the PGA Tour is right here in the Valley of the sun! I guess we just know how to throw a party! Oh yeah, and a golf tournament too! The Pro-Am’s and practice rounds are underway, with tournament play beginning on Thursday.

In honor of all of that… we presented our Top Ten “Phoenix Open” songs.  If you missed any of them, here’s the list, and why they made it…

#10  Boogie Nights by Heatwave.  Every night is a Boogie Night at the Birdsnest!

#9  “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins.  Standing along the fairway close to the Tee Box!  I’m amazed no one gets hit!

#8  “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar.  There will be a lot of great shots!

#7  “Oh, Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison.  Some people don’t come to watch, but rather to be seen!

#6  “Swingtown” by The Steve Miller Band.  The eyes of the world are on the Valley of the Sun this week.

#5  “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.  We keep an eye out hoping that he will return to play here.

#4  “Big Shot” by Billy Joel.  One big shot could change everything at any time!

#3  “Shout” by Tears For Fears.”  Don’t you love the crowds on the 16th!

#2  “Fly Like An Eagle” By the Steve Miller Band.  (Wow!  He made it in twice.)  One Eagle on the right hole could win the tournament.

#1  “I’m Alright” by Kenny Loggins.  (Wow!  Another two-timer on our list.)  C’mon.  Don’t you love watching the gopher dance to that one in the best golf movie of all time!  (Caddyshack)

Thanks for your suggestions for this weeks KOOLest Top Ten Tuesday songs.  Next week, we’re looking to put one together to honor our upcoming “Taste In Tempe” event on February 9th at the Tempe Center For The Arts.  Check it out HERE.

What songs do you think belong on that list?  Let us know, and then be listening to see if your song made it!  – Tom Peake
