Herman’s Hermits’ Peter Noone – Connection With The Everly Brothers
Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone are in town Saturday night at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts for a 7pm show Saturday evening. (click here for ticket info) With nearly two dozen chart hits to choose from as well as classic tracks from some of the groups albums, there’s no shortage of material.
They’re songs you know and can easily sing along along with; Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, I’m Into Something Good, Wonderful World, Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat, Silhouettes, Listen People, There’s A Kind Of Hush, and I’m Henry VIII I Am!
And opening the show will be Woodstock icon Melanie who had hits with Lay Down (Candles In The Rain), Peace Will Come, Ring The Living Bell, and her #1 hit Brand New Key.
I knew Peter had presented an award to the Everly Brothers several years ago, and with the death last week of Phil Everly, I brought it up again when we spoke earlier this week.
The award was for the most jukebox plays with Elvis coming in at #1 and The Everly Brothers right behind. With 52 chart records to their name, I’m not surprised the Everlys made such a strong showing.
