America took the stage of the Ovations Theatre at Wild Horse Pass and Casino to a sold out crowd. Performing their hits like “You Can Do Magic”, “Sister Golden Hair”, and “Lonely People”.
Original band members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, reminisced about growing up in London as Military brats in the mid 60s and getting to see great acts like Jimmy Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
After finishing a round of “Hey Jealousy” from the Gin Blossoms they said “These aren’t oldies, we’re classic rock”
By the end of the night the crowd was on their feet begging for more, so America returned to the stage to wrap up the night with “A Horse With No Name”.
It’s no wonder why Gerry and Dewey are asked to do 100 shows a year for the last 43 years. And they made a deal with the audience.
“As long as you keep coming, we’ll keep playing.”
