For most college football fans, halftime means time for a beer, food or bathroom break. However, at Ohio State University, halftime is time for one of the most spectacular marching band shows in the history of college football. Dedicated as a tribute to Michael Jackson, the band samples some of “The King of Pop’s” favorite hits throughout their ten minute performance like “Bad,” “Billie Jean,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” and, of course, “Thriller.”
The amazingly choreographed show features many unique formations of the band, including the silhouette of a dancing man who imitates a few of Jackson’s signature dance moves like the “lean,” the moonwalk and the splits. The dancing man formation even wears the signature white glove as he tips his hat. During their rendition of “The Man in the Mirror,” a choir joins the band on field to sing along in harmony to the instruments. Not only is this show worthy enough to please even the most devout King of Pop fan, but it’s “thrilling” enough to keep every fan dancing and singing along during halftime.
