Fridays while the State Fair is running means only one thing, it’s Foodie Friday! And this week we were greated with all kinds of exotic treats, from deep fried pop tarts to choclate covered crickets.
The deep frying didn’t stop with the pop tarts, there was also a deep fried brownie and even a cinnamon roll that took the trip to deep fry town. By the way, you can find all of these at Sweet Cheeks’ stand just south of the Grandstand.
If you are looking for something a little more healthy you have got to try the shaved pineapple and Italian ice parfait from J&L Concessions just outside of Star Trek: The Exhibition.
A trip to the fair just wouldn’t be the same without at least SOME bacon and this week they brought us a maple bacon donuts with a side of chocolate covered bacon, provided by Brander Enterprises (west of the coliseum).
And for the really daring Wayne’s Concessions has your wild side covered, with their chocolate covered bugs, and deep fried scorpions. Lysa D was daring (or tired enough) to try the chocolate covered cricket and she loved it. If you are willing to live out your own personal “Fear Factor” you can find Wayne’s Concessions on the east side of the Avenue which runs along the east side of the Commercial Exhibit building.
Wonder what Foodie Friday brings to us next week!
