1991 – The ol’ peapicker Tennessee Ernie Ford died.  I mention this because the second 45 I ever got was his recording of ‘Sixteen Tons’ which was my favorite for a long time.  Learned how to snap my fingers from it.

2008 – Four Tops lead singer Levi Stubbs died after a lengthy illness at his home in Detroit.  He was 72.

1995 – Sting’s former accountant Keith Moore was sentenced to six years in jail after being found guilty of embezzling around $5 million from Sting’s 108 bank accounts.
