Team Hugs After A Parent’s Worst Nightmare
Don Tiberi is a longtime longtime anchor and sports director at CBS affiliate WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio. On September 17, he received a phone call every parent dreads: his 21 year old daughter Maria, had been killed in a car accident.
Last Friday he returned to his sports desk on the evening news, expressing his gratitude to co-workers and supporters for their encouragement. But Don had no idea what was to take place the next day.
On Saturday after Ohio State beat the University Of Wisconsin-Madison at Ohio stadium, the home team showed their support in the most emotional way possible: one by one every player lined up to give Don a bear hug of love and support.
