This Sunday, I Walk
This Sunday, I walk. You should too.
This Sunday, I walk not because I need to exercise more, not because it’s for me. I walk because I can. Because this walk is special.
In 2011, my close friend Anthony and his family, lost something I can never imagine losing. They lost their daughter, Nitalia, to cancer.
My two girls spent time with Nitalia over the years and her sisters. I can remember everything happening and their struggle over the treatments. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a daughter.
Anthony started an amazing charity to help families that are going through the same struggles they had. It’s called the Purple Society, and it was something that his daughter Nitalia had thought of. She thought about the other children in the hospital and how she could help them, even though she was sick.
Amazing. werpurple.org is the website that offers so much to so many people struggling with childhood cancer.
September is childhood cancer awareness month. This Sunday is the “WALK 4 PURPLE” at the Paradise Valley Mall. It starts at 7:30 in the morning. You can sign up a team if you wish by clicking HERE.
If you wish, just come out to the mall, bring a friend, donate and walk. Because you can. The sign up will be right there in the food court. KOOL will be there, I will be there, we will have music, and prizes too.
This Sunday I walk. Because I can. Because it’s the right thing to do. I hope to see you there!
