Lee Daniels’ The Butler!!  Oprah and Forest Whitaker hold the number one position for another week in the box office. This movie is most definitely the one that everyone is talking about. And proof that word of mouth can be much more of a drive to the theaters than a ton of promotion depending on the quality of the movie. This one is a great example. Not only was it number one again, it also smashed all the newcomers this week which were all under the $10mil mark. Are there already talks of an Oscar for Oprah for her roll in this one? Well those are the rumors for now and remain to be seen….

Another film that was not new this week held on to the number two slot. It is also the one I have heard about repeatedly outside of the number one. Jennifer Aniston has a firm grip on second with “We’re the Millers” a comedy that has some even coming back for another look.

So where does this leave the new films we spoke about on Fri? Here is a look at the top ten. A disappointing top 10 if you are the film company that expected big things from your new flick. Take a look and see what may interest you for this week before the new holiday weekend movies hit the box office.

#1. The Butler

#2. We’re the Millers

#3. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

#4. The World’s End

#5. Planes

Yeah it looks like I better hurry and get caught up this week while things are quiet. You can expect a pretty big holiday weekend turnout so during the week and early may be your only time to get caught up before something else you want to see hops into the theater. Hope this can guide you to one worth seeing. :-)
