Rod Stewart Extends Vegas Residency

Bad news for Faces fans: Rod Stewart has announced that he’s extended his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and will return with his hits-filled show for two more years beginning this fall.

“I’m thrilled to add another two years,” said Stewart in a press release. “The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is literally one of the best venues in the entire world; there’s not a bad seat in the house and it sounds great — I love it there.”

Stewart also has a number of dates on a U.S. solo tour booked to promote his recent album, Time.  All of which means that a reunion with his former band, the Faces, seems increasingly unlikely.

In recent years, the surviving Faces — sans Stewart — have toured abroad; the band has included guitarist Ron Wood, keyboardist Ian McLagan and drummer Kenney Jones, along with former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock on bass and  Mick Hucknall from Simply Red singing in Stewart’s place. Last year, the Faces were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and Stewart was scheduled to join his bandmates to perform a few songs at the induction ceremony, but ultimately cancelled at the last minute.
