HOLY COW! Not very often do I get to see two movies on a weekend.

This past Saturday, The Huero family headed out to see Monsters University.  I am a huge Disney fan, so this was pretty much a ‘no-brainer’ for me and the family. The kids loved it and we all had a good time. (Here is a little secret. Opening weekend, if you are looking for a secret place to not hit all the lines, head to the AMC Arizona Center downtown. Great theatre, bit not very packed.)

We watched the Monsters University in 3-D.  Not impressed with the 3-D AT ALL…in fact my wallet thought that part stunk.  See it in regular D and save yourself the extra coins.

I am finding this out a lot lately with 3-D. It just doesn’t have that appeal anymore.  Maybe films are not going out of their way enough to make 3-D KOOL.

Anyway, on Sunday, after playing 18 holes with Mr. Tom Peake at the Camelback Golf Club, the family headed out to Desert Ridge for the chance to watch the new Superman movie.  Only problem was that we would have had to wait for a while to see it in regular D…so we chose the new Brad Pitt movie “World War Z”.

OK, I am fine with this to start. Then as the movie progresses, there are the “surprises”.  I HATE horror movies. I don’t like to be scared or ‘shocked’.  So, as I watch the movie through my fingers in some parts, we get through it.  I am impressed with the show (except for the surprises) and my nine-year old Sofia is now spending the night in our bed.

HOW FUN!  Bottom line was spending time with family.  I would watch that movie every day of the week.
