Glen Campbell is celebrating his 77th birthday today. His longtime publicist Sandy Brokaw has announced there will be one last album from Glen on July 30, when ‘See You Now’ will be released. The album will feature new vocals for several of his hits that were laid down during sessions for Glen’s final album of original material ‘Ghost On The Canvas’ released just prior to his ‘Goodbye Tour’ which wrapped up in November.
Glen’s health has deteriorated since then to the point he can’t do an interview – it’s too confusing for him. He’s still physically healthy, plays golf, and wants to record, but it’s getting more and more difficult for him to do so according to his wife Kim.
Last February 12 at Comerica Theatre, we were treated to one of the emotional concerts I’ve ever seen, and Glen Campbell appeared on a Phoenix stage for the last time – and gave it everything he had.
Here are the last three songs he sang that night, as well as his stage exit.
