Birthdays today include blues great John Mayall who’s still going strong at 79, jazz giant Chuck Mangione (Feels So Good) is 72, Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals (Groovin’) is 68, guitarist Ronnie Montrose of The Edgar Winter Band (Frankenstein) is 65, Boston (More Than A Feeling) guitarist Barry Goudreau is 61, and Jon Knight of New Kids on the Block (Step By Step) is 43.

November 29, 1969 – The Beatles topped the Billboard Hot 100 with Come Together/Something, which became their 18th #1 single.

November 29, 1996 – Herbert Khaury, better known as Tiny Tim, suffered a heart attack and died while playing his signature song ‘Tip Toe Through The Tulips’ on stage at a club in Minneapolis.  He was 64.

November 29, 1997 – Whitney Houston pulled out of a concert by the Moonies two hours before she was due on stage after discovering the event was a mass wedding for over 1,000 Moonie couples.

November 29, 2001 – The youngest member of The Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison died in Los Angeles at the age of 58 after a battle with lung cancer. After The Beatles broke up in 1970, George went on to record several best selling albums, as well as two albums with the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys.
