Today’s birthdays include The Manhattans (Kiss and Say Goodbye) Gerald Alston whi is 70, Bonnie Bramlett of Delaney and Bonnie (Never Ending Song Of Love) is 68, Roy Wood of the Move is 66, and Bonnie Raitt (Something To Talk About) is 63.

November 8, 1947 – Minnie Riperton (Loving You) was born.  Blessed with an incredible vocal range, Minnie lost her battle with cancer on July 12, 1979.

November 8, 1965 – The Beatles, working on a George Harrison song for their upcoming album ‘Rubber Soul’ rehearsed ‘Think For Yourself’, then nailed the basic instrumental track in a single take.

November 8, 1969 – It was another good day for George Harrison as the first Beatles A-side written by George entered the charts.  It would eventually peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and be overshadowed by the “B’ side, John Lennon’s ‘Come Together’.

November 8, 1975 – David Bowie made his U.S. television debut on Cher’s CBS-tv show, performing ‘Fame’.
