To honor the victims and those from the 9/11 attacks eleven years ago (2001), there are quite a few events around town that you can go to to pay your respects and share in the memorial ceremonies.
Scottsdale Fire Department’s Annual 9/11 Tribute
When: 1:30pm & 6:00pm
Location: Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Atrium, 7380 E. Second St., Old Town
This annual event is brought to you by the Scottsdale Fire Department and activities begin at 1:30 p.m. with a reading of the fallen victims’ names. At 6:00pm, there will be special guest speakers, music (patriotic) from local school bands and choruses. Plus, a candlelight vigil. The evening ceremonies take place at the center’s Virginia G. Piper Theater.

The Exchange Club Of Tempe & City Of Tempe
When: Sept. 9-11, 2012
Location: Tempe Beach Park (Mill Ave. & Rio Salado Parkway)
The 9th Annual Healing Field display will be hosted once again by the City Of Tempe and The Exchange Club Of Tempe, honoring the victims of 9/11. Three thousand U.S. flags are posted in the Tempe Beach Park and it’s a sombering and breathtaking view to see. You can sponsor a flag and honor a fallen victim at the website.

City of Phoenix – 11th Annual 9-11 Memorial Event
When: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012
Location: Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St. – Atrium Under the Stairs
Join Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, City Manager David Cavazos, Phoenix Fire and Phoenix PD for the 11th Annual 9/11 Memorial Event. Prayers will be given by Rabbi Robert Kravitz and Father Carl Carlozzi. An Honor Guard bagpiper will also perform “Amazing Grace”.
