It’s hard to imagine how different The Beatles music would have been without the support and musical contributions of producer George Martin.  One of the best examples of this is ‘In My Life from the Rubber Soul album.  John and Paul were stuck for a musical break in the song when George came up with a brilliant solution.  Imagine how different the song would have sounded if, say Phil Spector had been in the control room.
