It’s a bit of a slow day for birthdays.  O.C. Smith (Little Green Apples) would have celebrated his 80th birthday, but died six months shy of his 70th in 2001.  However, still going strong are Ray Davies of The Kinks (68), Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer (62), and guitar great Nils Lofgren who has played and recorded with the E Street Band, Ringo Starr, and Neil Young, in addition to his own solo material, is 60.

On June 21, 1966, Jimmy Page made his live debut with The Yardbirds at London’s Marquee Club.  That same day, The Beatles recorded a new John Lennon song that completed the Revolver album, She Said She Said.  It was reportedly based on a drug induced conversation that Lennon had with Peter Fonda while John and George Harrison were taking a trip – and not one that required a vehicle.

I never got much out of the lyrics, but maybe you can enlighten me on what he was talking about.  Goo goo g’ joob!
