We’ve all been there.  Maybe someone is hitting you up for money, or maybe you don’t have any money.

A survey by CouponCabin.com asked people what they thought was the most awkward money-related moment.

Surprisingly, only 17% of people said that splitting the dinner check among a large group of people was awkward.  Here are the five things that finished ahead of it:

#1.)  Having your credit card declined:  40% said it was awkward.

#2.)  Being asked to donate to charity by friends, relatives, or coworkers:  34%.

#3.)  Saying no to a panhandler who asks for money:  30%.

#4.)  Comparing salaries with coworkers:  30%.

#5.)  Chipping in for a group gift with coworkers:  25%.
