Steve Goddard

From Steve Goddard

Today’s birthdays include Steve‘s brother, Muff Winwood (1943), bass player for the Spencer Davis Group [Gimme Some Lovin'], Rod Argent of The Zombies [She's Not There, Time Of the Season] and Argent [Hold Your Head Up], Barry Melton (1947) of Country Joe and the Fish [I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die Rag'], Slade bass guitarist Jim Lea (1952), and Boy George (1961) of Culture Club [Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon],  real name: George O’Dowd.

On this day in 1953, Elvis Presley graduated from IC Humes High School in Memphis, his senior photo showing him to have a spit curl in the middle of his forehead which would later become his trademark.

And on June 14, 2002, The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger became Sir Mick Jagger in the Queen’s birthday honors.  Keith Richards was unimpressed later saying “I kneel for no one”.

Click here to check out Elvis‘ high school picture.  It’s the one to the far right on the top row of photographs and also again at the bottom of the page.

Thank you…thank you very much.
