Happy Monday! Today’s KOOL Kollective video is another favorite and I figured since I’m doing my KOOL Nights show, I’d feature it!
“Cool Night” was released in 1981 by songwriter and singer, Paul Davis. He had a sound like no other, encompassing pop, country and soul genres in his music. He’s had quite a few hit singles, including “’65 Love Affair” and “I Go Crazy.”
After signing with Arista Records, both “’65 Love Affair” and “Cool Night” peaked in the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 1986, Paul Davis left a motel with a female companion and was shot in the abdomen by an unidentified male – who demanded his wallet. Paul survived then, but died from a heart attack in 2008.
