Each week we try to help adopt out a dog in need of a forever home. Sometimes is helps to see what these poor pups have been through. This week we have a before…and after photos of CHIP. He needs a home and you can help.
Cuddly in appearance, Soft Coat Wheaten terriers aren’t pushovers. Chip may look like a designer dog but he seeks thrills not frills. Owners must be able to cope with Chip’s exuberant temperament and strength of character.
He is a sturdy dog with limitless stamina for fun and games. Chip would appreciate an owner with a sense of humor because this canine comedian has a tendency to get into mischief. If boredom sets in he will find ways to entertain himself. Articles of clothing may disappear from the laundry hamper and shoes may be misplaced. Chip is always investigating the world by following his nose and hiding treats around the house will provide this nosey canine with a job to do while his owner is away. He also likes to play “Keep Away” with his favorite squeaky toy or fetch with a tennis ball.
Since his owner didn’t have much time to devote to a dog, Chip will need a patient coach to teach him new tricks and the house rules. He is the type of dog who likes to be up close and sometimes when he’s really excited he will jump on visitors to greet them face to face with kisses.
Just a trek around the yard can attract mud, leaves and burrs in his soft fur coat and daily brushing is necessary as is a trim every few months.
He is available NOW at the Sunnyslope Facility located at 9226 North 13th Avenue in Phoenix. His adoption fee is $110 and includes his neuter surgery, vaccinations, a colorful leash and collar with an AHS ID tag and a free follow-up veterinary exam.
