I was trying to think of a witty title for this blog.  But, I couldn’t come up with anything funnier than the facts.  Mike Myers recently serenaded President Barack Obama and the First Lady with a rendition of “What’s New, Pussycat” from Tom Jones.  One question immediately comes to mind: “WHY?!?”

Burt Bacharach and Hal David were presented the Library of Congress’ Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.  Lord knows, they were behind a SLEW of hits!  So, there was a tribute concert on PBS where their songs were performed.  OK.  I get that someone would sing “What’s New, Pussycat.”  But, when superstar singers like Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow and Lyle Lovett are in the house, how does Mike Myers get on the list of singers?

Maybe he’s just THAT good.  YOU decide!  Watch Austin Powers…er, uh Wayne Campbell…er, uh Mike Myers sing to the Obamas:
