That’s what George Martin said about The Beatles 16th chart album Rubber Soul. Entering the Billboard album chart on Christmas day 1965, it peaked at #1 for 6 out of its 59 week run. Though the track line up for the American version differed from the British release, the feel of the album was similar with both releases.
Sir George recalled his stance that the album represented a new Beatles, and what made it different from previous releases. It wasn’t just the sitar on Norwegian Wood that made the album unique.
