The term “haboob” has been around for YEARS. But, it was only last year when*I* heard it for the first time. Well, we now have a brand new word. And, I’m pretty certain this one has NO history whatsoever. May I introduce you to the “gustnado?” Good luck getting THAT into Merriam-Webster!
The Valley just saw some this week. According to the National Weather Service, they have winds like tornadoes. But, they’re more isolated and dissipate more quickly. Did YOU experience this? I thought they were called “microbursts!”
