The Beatles Last Recording Session – 42 Years Ago Yesterday

the long and winding road 385x280 The Beatles Last Recording Session 42 Years Ago Yesterday

Not counting the two recordings the surviving [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beatles[/lastfm] made for the Anthology series in the 90’s, the last [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beatles[/lastfm] recording session took place on April 1, 1970.  It was a string overdub session for The Long and Winding Road, which [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] would complain about after it was released, saying  it was too overbearing. (as was everything [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Phil Spector[/lastfm] produced) Here’s a clip of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Lennon[/lastfm] with an assessment of the group just as they were coming to the end.

The only [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beatles[/lastfm] member at that last session was [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ringo Starr[/lastfm].
