
48 years ago today [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Beatles[/lastfm] made their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Out of 50,000 requests for tickets, 703 lucky fans (and adults) filled the Manhattan studio at 1697 Broadway to hear them sing 5 songs: Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There, I Want To Hold Your Hand, and the one that started off their first set during the show.
