Lysa D’s “KOOL Kollective” – Video Of The Day (1/11/12)
Today’s KOOL Kollective artist released his debut album in 1970.
He wrote a song about a woman who was married to his good friend, George Harrison
…and today’s KOOL Kollective video was his first music video!
It’s ERIC CLAPTON!!! Today’s KOOL Kollective video is…
Eric Clapton “Forever Man”
From his 1985 album, Behind The Sun, “Forever Man” reached #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart. This was his first music video and was directed by Godley & Creme. The video features another KOOL artist contributing to the background vocals, Yvonne Elliman.
Eric wrote the song “Layla: about his undying love for Patti Boyd Harrison – who was married to George Harrison (yes, of the Beatles). Eric got a lucky break, because she & George divorced and Eric married her 9 years later!
Clapton had just signed with Warner Bros during the creation of this album, but when this album was completed, the label rejected it. Apparently, there weren’t enough singles. Three songs were commissioned, including “Forever Man” by composer Jerry Lynn Williams.
Love the guitar riff in the beginning! Enjoy! xoxo
