Ringo designed the cover for the last [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beatles[/lastfm] Christmas record sent to fan club members on December 19, 1969. If you want to trace the evolution of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Beatles[/lastfm] in about 40 minutes, listen to all the Christmas recordings in order. This one shows how fragmented the group was at this time. Recorded in the fall of 1969 at John and Yoko’s home in Ascot (with way too much John and Yoko bloviating on and on), Ringo’s home in Waybridge, Paul’s home in London, and the London offices of Apple. This is the toughest of the seven discs to get through. Within six months of its release, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Beatles[/lastfm] were officially finished as a group.
Here’s the full cover. I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing the discs. Merry Christmas.
