The Recording Academy just put out a press release regarding the November 30th Grammy Nominations Concert Live. It promises an announcement from a “truly iconic group regarding their reunion on the Grammy stage February 12th.” Just afterwards, @TheGRAMMYs Tweeted, “Does this hint make you wanna ‘Jump’ and ‘Dance the Night Away’?” Gee, that’s not too obvious, is it?
So, will it be [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Van Halen[/lastfm] or Van Hagar? I’m a fan of BOTH versions of the band. But, I hope they don’t try to fuse them together. One of the worst concerts I ever attended was the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Lee Roth[/lastfm] / [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sammy Hagar[/lastfm] double bill about 10 years ago. Can you say AWKWARD???
OK, here’s the rumor: A new Van Halen album WITH David Lee Roth (the first in 27 years) is complete and ready for an early spring release! It just makes sense to premiere one of the new songs on the GRAMMYs!
Soooooo…that leads me to the all-important question:
