[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Killers[/lastfm] have certainly been compared to a lot of early [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Peter Gabriel[/lastfm] material, especially on their 2006 release Sam’s Town. While many of the albums synths do sound Gabriel inspired, two really stand out apart from the rest. The passionate numbers My List and Why Do I Keep Counting? arguably draw a heavy amount of influence from Gabriel, and the album as a whole was a big step forward for the band because they stayed true to the essence that made them who they are, while at the same time introducing new sounds that they’d never experimented with reminiscent of artists like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Verve[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Bowie[/lastfm], and of course…[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Peter Gabriel[/lastfm].
