[photogallerylink id=76237 align=left] Meet P.J.! This 4 month old adorable Chihuahua is looking for his forever KOOL home just in time for the holidays.
Witnesses heard the car’s breaks screech and seconds later P.J. bounced off the front bumper and rolled underneath the car.
Stumbling to the curb, the 4-pound Chihuahua hobbled to a dirt field along the street and collapsed to the ground. When Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ arrived minutes later, they found the 9-week-old pup suffering from burns created by the hot car’s engine and massive wounds on his shoulders from sliding across the pavement. He was barely hanging on when he arrived at the Second Chance Animal Hospital™ where veterinarians quickly worked to stabilize the puppy. Vet techs cleaned and wrapped each burn and then PJ settled into his kennel to rest for the night.
After several weeks of treatment and bandage changes, P.J. was finally released into a foster home where he spent over a month recovering and he has made a miraculous recovery. He is a playful pup who enjoy playing games of tug with the other small dog in his foster home. He will need a patient coach to teach him the basics commands and finish housetraining him. He is great with dogs and kids but hasn’t been around cats.
He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope facility loacated at 9226 North 13th Avenue in Phoenix. His adoption fee is $160 and includes his neuter surgery, vaccines, a colorful leash and collar with an AHS ID tag and a free follow-up veterinary exam.
