This September 11th marks the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that hit the United States in 2001, and Annie is on a mission. As of today, she’s Been On The Road For 5 Days.
I met Annie at the Arizona Celebration of Freedom in Mesa last Friday night, literally hours before she embarked on a 13,597 mile memorial road trip. She plans to travel through each of the 48 continental states, on her way to New York City. She is planning to arrive at Ground Zero on 9-11-11.
I plan on posting updates here on my blog.
So, why is she doing this? “Journey To Remember” has been established to memorialize the 10 year anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11/01. To honor those heroes whose lives were lost, those who served and those who continue to serve by uniting the country through a 48 state journey. And, at the same time provide an avenue for fundraising for foundations that support military, police, fire, medical and their families.
Their web site is right here. You will find Annie’s daily blog, picture gallery and other items and be able follow her all the way to New York City.
Here’s a quote from their site:
We have friends that were at the World Trade Center that day and have shared some of their TESTIMONIALS, we have friends that have lost loved ones in the line of duty and we have friends that wanted to show their respect and just didn’t know how or where. This trip is a fund-raiser. Our goal is to raise at least $911,000. The money earned will benefit military and first responders across the country as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
By the way, feel free to leave a comment on her blog, or on her Facebook Page. And below, a picture of Annie and her family.
