Weird Al Yankovic’s “Perform This Way” And 19 Other Weird Al Classics

It’s safe to say that accordion-playing parodist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Weird Al Yankovic[/lastfm] is the reigning king of the song spoof.  Weird Al has been successfully lampooning the hits since the early ’80s, and he shows no signs of stopping.  Today sees the release of his latest CD, Alpocalypse, along with the release of the video of his hilarious [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] riff, Perform This Way.  Check out his latest, as well as 19 other videos from his almost 30-year career.

The primitive way that Al’s face is planted on the Gaga body is just part of the fun of this outrageous take on Mother Monster.  And in full drag, I swear that he bears a striking resemblance to Jane ‘Jenna Maroney‘ Krakowski from 30 Rock.  Does anyone else see that?

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Toni Basil[/lastfm]’s Mickey was rife for parody and Al went back to the 50’s to serve up a black and white parody of not only Basil’s tune, but also the classic sitcom I Love Lucy.

This parody of the styles of Beach Boy [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Brian Wilson[/lastfm] utilized classic educational film footage to give an eye opening look at a funny sounding organ, the Pancreas.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]R. Kelly[/lastfm]’s never-ending musical saga Trapped In The Closet was moved to the drive-thru line for Weird Al’s rendition.

In 1989, Weird Al hit movie screens with his first, and only, starring role in the film UHF.

Prior to the release of the Star Wars prequels, Weird Al borrowed [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Don McLean[/lastfm]’s American Pie for a spoof that was said to have even put a smile on George Lucas‘ face.

One of Weird Al’s “weirdest” creations, Dare To Be Stupid parodied the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Devo[/lastfm] insanity.

The first of his videos to see huge massive appeal, Eat It is a spot-on satirization of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]’s classic video for Beat It.

Weird Al continued his obesity obsession in regards to Jackson with Fat.

Before there was Lady Gaga, there was [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Madonna[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Like A Virgin[/lastfm] was the perfect tune to rip wide open.

Weird Al took it to the streets with White And Nerdy.

It may have been All About The Benjamins for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Puff Daddy[/lastfm], but for Weird Al it’s All About The Pentiums.

Okay…so our final video isn’t actually a Weird Al music video, but it’s a near perfect spoof.  Funny or Die created this amazing send up of the rock star biopic, with Weird Al making a cameo, and an unrecognizable Patton Oswalt as the infamous Dr. Demento. Enjoy Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
