While we may not get a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Monkees[/lastfm] tour date in Phoenix this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t check in with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Davy Jones[/lastfm] to see how it’s going.
[photogallerylink id=41769 align=left]The tour started in England and has made its way to the United States. Davy shared his thoughts on BOTH sides of the pond during this 45th Anniversary Tour.
According to Davy, a highlight of the tour was getting a chance to visit his hometown of Manchester. Unlike [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ringo Starr[/lastfm]’s first boyhood home, which is the subject of a preservation drive, the house Davy once lived in was torn down. But it’s a good thing — since the land is being used for a new middle school that replaces the one he attended in the 1950s. He expects to be among the prominent Mancunians who’ll be at the ribbon-cutting next year when the Varnart Street Secondary Modern School is dedicated.
The Monkees perform tonight in suburban Boston at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
