“Living in the Material World: George Harrison,” a biographical book authorized by his widow, Olivia, featuring rare pictures and memories of the Beatle’s life from his family and friends, will be published this fall by Abrams, it was announced today.
The 400-page book, to coincide with the Martin Scorsese documentary about the former Beatle, will be assembled from Harrison’s personal archive of never-before-seen photos, letters, diaries, and memorabilia.
In addition to his Beatles years, the book will also touch on his love of Indian music, his work as a movie producer and his time as a member of the Traveling Wilburys. The book will feature a foreward written by the director, plus an introduction by Paul Theroux.
The book will also include reminiscences from members of his family, plus his friends including Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton and Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
