I’ll be a singing fool at the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Huey Lewis[/lastfm] concert at Talking Stick Resort. But, there’s ANOTHER concert you should know about. This one’s in Tucson at 6pm, and WELL worth the drive! It’s a benefit for those affected by the shootings on January 8th.

The benefit concert for the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding is tonight at the Tucson Convention Center – performers include: [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jackson Browne[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alice Cooper[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Crosby[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Graham Nash[/lastfm], Ozomatli and Calexico.
The fund, established by Ron Barber, a survivor of the January 8 shooting and a Giffords staffer, will support individuals and families affected by the shooting, and will help promote civility and respect in public discourse, schools and the community. The fund will also go towards increasing awareness of mental health symptoms, treatment and prevention services.
The concert will feature speakers including Ron Barber, Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and Lea Marquez Peterson, president of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Other performers scheduled for the concert include Sam Moore, Nils Lofgren, Keb’ Mo’, Jerry Riopelle and Dar Williams. Jackson Browne and Alice Cooper partnered with Danny Zelisko to put together the line-up of musicians.
The concert is today, Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.
